Collage

The sun was coming in the window and I had the urge to do something creative. I got a few good stark shots of the white painted wood of my above-the-sink shelves, but this one is my favorite:


It is a tiny brass statuette of an Indian goddess (bought on Nantucket in an imported curio store on a whim years ago), a piece of marine shell (found on an Atlantic beach decades ago), and my new brown leather wallet as background. It was obviously staged, but I enjoy the juxtaposition of the exotic and mundane, the limited color palette, and the super-close range.
